Find and apply for scholarships?
Each year the Undergraduate Scholarship Office awards nearly $3.5 million of scholarships to thousands of first-year students. Be sure to also investigate private sources.
To receive priority consideration, you must have been admitted by February 1. If funding is available, students applying after the priority deadline date may receive scholarship consideration. Grade point average (GPA) is based on information received from a student’s high school transcript and is calculated using the cumulative GPA for grades 9, 10, and 11.
The highest composite test score from one test date is considered for scholarship qualification. Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee that a student will receive the listed scholarship.
We are committed to helping you reach your educational goals without burdening you with excessive student loan debt. Your total bill for tuition, fees, and housing (if applicable) is calculated. Then we deduct the amount of your scholarship and any other WVU awards from the amount you owe. If your scholarships and other funds exceed the amount of your bill, you will receive a refund check that can be used for other expenses, such as textbooks, meals, laundry, etc.
