Getting Started
Admitted Students
Once you have decided that West Virginia University is the best place for you, here are your next steps:
- Pay the academic deposit: Use the deposit slip mailed to you previously or pay online. The academic deposit reserves your place in the fall 2008 class and allows you to receive additional information such as housing and orientation. This academic deposit is refundable if you cancel your admission by May 1.
- Apply for housing: You should receive your housing packet approximately 2 weeks after you pay your academic deposit. All freshmen who are not residing with their immediate families while attending WVU are required to live in University housing. Students who are commuting from their home should still submit the housing application and indicate they will be commuting.
- Complete the FAFSA: If you need financial assistance, be sure to file your financial aid application – FAFSA – prior to the March 1 deadline.
- Register for orientation: Information will be mailed by middle to late March to all students who have paid the academic deposit.
- Review the admitted student timeline: Additional information for new students.
