Getting Started
Why I Chose WVU
I came here because of the five-year education program. I hope to teach in inner-city schools to help students who might not normally get a great education.
- Karyn Goldberg, elementary and special education major from Cherry Hill, NJ
WVU provided me with enough financial aid and scholarships to keep me out of debt when I graduate.
- Karmen Stafford, marketing major from Detroit, MI
I chose WVU because I love the overall atmosphere of Morgantown. The people of Morgantown are some of the friendliest I have ever come across.
- Grant Johnson, physical education and teacher education major from Elmira, NJ
I came to WVU because I was completely unsure what I wanted to major in, and WVU’s major selection was outstanding. I was attracted to the variety of outdoor activities that are close by.
- Nathan Askins, multidisciplinary studies (environmental protection, environmental economics, and sustainable design) major from New Brighton, PA
I came here because of WVU’s great public relations programs. I am working on a project that looks at product placement and its influence on television viewers.
- Brandon Thomas, public relations major from Charleston, WV
I came to the campus for a visit and really liked what I saw. In my research I found that WVU’s professors and faculty go out of their way to help students, something that has proved true for the past three years.
- Soney Wright, foreign languages (Spanish and Japanese) major from Round Hill, VA
I chose WVU because it has a great pharmacy school and because of its location. I have always liked the Morgantown area.
- Janelle Durany, pharmacy major from Uniontown, PA
I transferred to WVU because the school welcomed me and gave me opportunities I couldn’t get elsewhere.
- Jacqueline Gannon, multidisciplinary studies major (leadership, communications, and sociology) from Westerly, RI
I chose WVU because I wanted the big school experience with the small town feel. Also, I knew I wanted to go to a school with all the different sporting events to attend!
- Caroline Cronin, biology major from Clifton, VA
I came to WVU for my major. The program is nationally recognized, regarded as one of the best in the US. I thought I could make a lot of my dreams come true at a place like WVU since the opportunities seem endless.
- Marci Smeltz, forensic chemistry and chemistry (BS) major from Harrisburg, PA
