Apply for Housing and Pay Housing Deposit
Welcome to the WVU family! An important step in your upcoming enrollment is applying for housing and paying your housing deposit.
Please note: Students must submit their academic deposit before they can complete the housing application and deposit. If you have not paid the academic deposit, you can do so online.
For your convenience, there are two ways you can apply for housing and pay the deposit:
1. Online: Complete the application and pay the deposit online through the STAR Information System, accessible through your MIX account. In addition to the application and deposit, you will select your meal plan, and during your priority period you can also select your room.
To complete your Housing Application and pay your housing deposit online:
- Sign into Mountaineer Information Xpress (MIX) using your MIX ID and password (you should have already received instructions for using the MIX account – more information on MIX
- Click on the “STAR” tab
- Click on the “STAR Information System” link
- Click on the “Student Financial Aid and Housing” link
- Click on “Housing” link
- Click on “Housing Application” link to complete the application and pay the deposit, or click the “Pay Housing Deposit” link if you have previously submitted the Housing Application
Reminder: You must complete your Housing Application before the online system will allow you to pay your housing deposit.
2. By Mail: Complete the Housing Application and submit the application and deposit through the postal service. A paper housing application can be requested through STAR Information System. Follow the steps above, and then on the last item check “Request Paper Application” and submit. The Housing Application will be mailed to your Permanent Home address.
