Apply for Housing and Pay Deposit

Fall 2008

On-campus housing is in great demand for the 2008-09 academic year. Effective July 1, housing applications for the 2008 fall semester will no longer be accepted as WVU is committed to provide housing to students who have previously submitted housing applications.

If you have not submitted an on-campus housing application, WVU’s Office of Housing and University Apartments recommends you contact the Off-Campus Housing Office for assistance in obtaining suitable housing off-campus. Welcome to the West Virginia University family! An important step in your upcoming enrollment is applying for housing and paying your housing deposit.

Please note: Students must submit their academic deposit before they can complete the housing application and deposit. If you have not paid the academic deposit, you can do so online.

For your convenience, there are two ways you can apply for housing and pay the deposit:

  1. By Mail: Complete the Housing Application that was mailed to you and submit the application and deposit through the postal service.
  2. Online: Complete the application and pay the deposit online through the STAR Information System, accessible through your MIX account. In addition to the application and deposit, you will select your meal plan, and during your priority period you can also select your room.

To complete your Housing Application and pay your housing deposit online:

  • Sign into Mountaineer Information Xpress (MIX) using your MIX ID and password (you should have already received instructions for using the MIX account – more information on MIX
  • Click on the STAR tab
  • Click on the STAR Information System link
  • Click on the Student Financial Aid and Housing link
  • Click on Housing link
  • Click on Housing Application link to complete the application and pay the deposit, or click the Pay Housing Deposit link if you have previously submitted the Housing Application

Reminder: You must complete your Housing Application before the online system will allow you to pay your housing deposit.
